Any regular reader of Fun Size Horror knows that we go ga-ga for spooky short films, so it should come as no surprise that we're big and bloody fans of David F. Sandberg's 2013 short film, Lights Out. In the award-winning short, a malevolent presence haunts a woman in an apartment. The hook? The presence can (mostly) only be detected when the lights are out.

It's a novel approach, and it's one that Sandberg has expanded upon in a full-length adaption of the short (with a little help from James Wan, of The Conjuring, Insidious, and Saw fame). Check out the trailer for the upcoming full-length:

Spooky, no? Lights Out hits theaters on July 22.
